With the successful conclusion of The Pythagorean Way 2026 – International Conference on the Pythagorean Heritage, held on 23–25 April 2026 in Locri Epizephyrii and Reggio Calabria, we extend our sincere thanks to all keynote speakers, presenters, participants, and institutional partners for contributing to an outstanding scholarly gathering.
Organised by the School of Philosophy and Arts Magna Graecia, in partnership with the National Archaeological Museum of Locri Epizephyrii, the conference brought together an international community of researchers to examine the Pythagorean tradition through the perspectives of ancient philosophy, mathematics, music, history of science, archaeology, cultural heritage, and cross-cultural studies. We were honoured to welcome Professor Catherine Rowett (University of East Anglia, UK) and Professor Dominic J. O'Meara (Université de Fribourg, Switzerland) as keynote speakers. Their lectures, together with the contributions of scholars representing universities and research institutions from across Europe and Asia, stimulated engaging discussions on the enduring significance of Pythagorean thought from Antiquity to the present day.
The conference was enriched by its setting within the archaeological landscape of Locri Epizephyrii and concluded with an academic and cultural programme at the National Archaeological Museum of Reggio Calabria, highlighting the historical context of Magna Graecia in which the Pythagorean tradition flourished. These visits reinforced the connection between scholarly inquiry and the cultural heritage that continues to inspire contemporary research. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of this edition.
The exchange of ideas, interdisciplinary dialogue, and new academic connections established during the conference will continue through future collaborations, publications, and forthcoming editions of The Pythagorean Way.

International Conference  The Pythagorean Way 2025 Concludes in Calabria with Inspiring Discussions and Cultural Reflection
First international conference “The Pythagorean Way” concluded successfully after three days (April 24–26) of profound dialogue and cultural exchange. Scholars, philosophers, musicians, and thinkers from around the world convened both in person and virtually to explore the lasting influence of Pythagorean philosophy across disciplines – including politics, ethics, mathematics, music, and metaphysics.
Hosted in the region that holds special historical significance to Pythagoras' ancient stomping grounds in Calabria, the event was as much an academic convention as a celebration of intellectual tradition and cultural heritage.
Organizers expressed gratitude to all participants and encouraged continued collaboration and reflection on the Pythagorean legacy.
